TOKYO – The latest concert film in the popular Uta no Prince-sama franchise, Uta no Prince-sama The Movie: TABOO NIGHT XXXX, has officially surpassed a major box office milestone. According to the latest figures from Oricon News, the film has earned a cumulative total of 1.18 billion yen (approximately 8.17 million USD) from over 710,000 admissions in the 46 days since its premiere on May 9.
This achievement marks a significant success, making it the third consecutive film in the series to cross the billion-yen threshold. The first film, Uta no Prince-sama The Movie: Maji LOVE Kingdom (2019), earned 1.82 billion yen, while the second, Uta no Prince-sama The Movie: Maji LOVE ST☆RISH TOUR (2022), was the franchise’s highest-grossing entry at 2.29 billion yen.
Released in 135 theaters across Japan, TABOO NIGHT XXXX has demonstrated impressive staying power, remaining in the box office top 10 for seven consecutive weekends. The film’s success is particularly notable as it shifts focus from the main seven-member idol unit, ST☆RISH, to the four-member senior group, QUARTET NIGHT.
The members of QUARTET NIGHT are voiced by a team of veteran voice actors:
- Showtaro Morikubo as Reiji Kotobuki
- Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Ranmaru Kurosaki
- Shouta Aoi as Ai Mikaze
- Tomoaki Maeno as Camus

The film’s strong performance also places it in esteemed company as the sixth Japanese anime film of 2025 to reach the one billion yen milestone. It joins a successful slate that includes major titles like Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback, Doraemon: Nobita’s Art World Tales, and Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX – Beginning –.
A key factor in the film’s sustained box office draw has been the distribution of weekly special items for theatergoers. To continue this trend, it was announced that audiences attending during the film’s eighth week, from June 27 to July 3, will receive exclusive “QUARTET EMPIRE” emblem stickers.
