Sharon Stone is set to make a powerful return to the action genre, starring as the formidable villain opposite Bob Odenkirk in the highly anticipated sequel, Nobody 2. The film, directed by cult Indonesian action filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, will see Odenkirk reprise his role as Hutch Mansell, a seemingly ordinary family man with a secret past as a lethal government assassin.

In the 2021 hit Nobody, audiences witnessed Hutch reluctantly unleash his dormant skills after a home invasion. The sequel finds him attempting to leave his violent past behind for a peaceful family vacation. However, their resort proves to be a hotbed of criminal activity, forcing Hutch back into action.

This time, he faces off against Lendina, a lethal new adversary portrayed by Hollywood legend Sharon Stone. Director Timo Tjahjanto describes the character as snake-like, capable of switching from serene calmness to unhinged chaos. Tjahjanto admitted that casting Stone was initially a long shot, but the actress was enthusiastic about the role.

“I thought we could never get Sharon Stone,” Tjahjanto explained. “We sent a script and a couple of days later I was sitting on her couch, telling her about this character. She was like, ‘Alright, Timo, I’m fucking in.’ It was surreal.”

For Stone, the role marks a significant return to a genre she hasn’t explored in decades, particularly after experiencing a life-changing stroke 20 years ago. “I literally did not know, ‘Do I still have her in me?’,” she confessed. “‘Am I going to be able to come in here and make people believe that I can be this ass-kicking hyper-villain?’”

Her co-star, Bob Odenkirk, who has also faced his own life-threatening health scare, had nothing but praise for Stone’s capabilities. “She’s in great shape, and she can fight, and she can push you around,” Odenkirk stated. “And she’s powerful. She never stops thinking. She might as well be a 22-year-old comedy writer, for all the thoughts and ideas going through her head.”

With a compelling new foe and the promise of intense action, Nobody 2 is shaping up to be a thrilling sequel, heralding the roaring comeback of Sharon Stone to the big screen.
